7 Ways The iPhone 7 Is A Better Phone
Following months of supposed leaks, rumours and speculations, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have finally been released. Several steps up from the previous models, the phones are fitted with a host of exciting new features that made the wait worthwhile.
Following the rave reviews received by the 6S camera, the iPhone 7 has stepped it up a notch with a 12 megapixel camera that now has a wider aperture of f1.8. This small change makes a big difference, as now more light can enter the six-element lens, meaning you can now take better images in low light conditions. Added optical image stabilization means that your photos are steadier no matter how shaky your hands are.
The iPhone 7 Plus takes it even further with a two lens rear camera, that allows for images that have greater depth. The second lens is a 56mm telephoto lens that acts like an imbedded zoom. The camera also has a brighter flash with four LEDs.
However it is not only the rear camera that has improved, the front camera is now 7 megapixels and has an automatic image stabilization feature for a clearer Face Time experience.
The Missing Headphone Jack
Apple has officially made a bold move towards the future and has done away with the classic 3.5mm jack that has been around since the year 1910. Instead the Apple EarPods have now been fitted with a Lightening Connector jack. However for those who prefer to use headphones with a 3.5mm jack, an adaptor has also been included in the box.
While it isn’t recommended that you take your iPhone along with you when you for a swim, the water resistant function means that a little rain or an accidental drop of your phone in the toilet should not be a problem.
The new iPhone has a second speaker that has been placed at the top of the phone, in addition to the stereo speaker on the bottom.
While the look has stayed almost the same as the 6 and 6S, the 7 and 7 Plus have done away with the clicking home button. Instead it now has a solid home button that cannot be physically pressed, similar to the trackpad on the MacBook.
Longer Battery Life
Apple has increased the battery life of both new phones, with the 7 providing two hours more battery life than the iPhone 6 and the 7 Plus having an hour more than the 6S. In all, using internet browsing, both phones have an average capacity of 12 hours.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus include Apple’s newest and fastest processor, the A10 Fusion, which is 64-bit and has a quad-core. This means that you will now be able to use minimal battery life even while multi-tasking and playing games like Super Mario which is now available in the Apple Store.
Apple has also officially phased out the 16GB storage capacity and now offers 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage to choose from. While the unique space grey colour is no longer available, Apple has included a spanking new jet black alternative in addition to the matte black, silver, gold and rose gold options. The iPhone 7 and & Plus will be available in India from October 7, 2016 and prices will start from Rs. 60,000.
