Dell Launches The New Inspiron 15

Dell’s Inspiron 15, a gaming laptop with NVIDIA GTX 10 series graphics has been introduced at the CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Nevertheless, laptops have become much less expensive over the past few years but gaming laptops still remain an exception. The new machine provides 4K game play and begins from $799 (Rs. 54,440 approx). It is accelerated by 7th Gen Intel Core processors which allows its users to enjoy the virtual reality (VR) on the device. It is already available in US and Canada. The new Inspiron 15 is sponsored by ELEAGUE and powered by Alienware.

The laptop is available in red and black colour variants. Its hardware consists of dedicated forward and rearward thermal outlets; oversized pipes, dual fans and heat exchangers to avoid heating issues during gaming sessions. Packed with NVIDIA’s Pascal graphics which includes NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050Ti, the device offers an anti-glare display and Waves Maxx Audio Pro for tuning and audio controls with a 74 WHr battery. The Alienware lineup has helped with updates like VR and 12k-capable rigs.

The laptop weighs over 2.6 kg and is an inch thick as well. However, what you get inside makes up for it. You also get options to choose from quad-core Intel Core i5 and i7 H-series chips from the Kaby Lake generation. These are 45-watt chips with excellent faster processing performance. It is also jammed with two speakers and a subwoofer inside for better audio enhancement. You also get to choose the hard disk and SSD combinations. There is a Full HD and an Ultra HD IPS display. The Full HD model comes in either anti-glare non-touch or glossy touch configurations. The full-size design of the machine has some interesting storage options, many including two separate drives. On the 15-inch model will come six possible storage configurations: a 1TB straight hard drive, three dual-drive arrangements using 128GB or 256GB SSDs paired with 500GB or 1TB hard drives, a 256GB SSD stand alone and a 512GB exclusive PCI Express SSD option. The 14-incher is restricted to a 128GB SSD/500GB hard drive pair option or a 256GB SSD single drive.

The keyboard is convenient while the touchpad is smooth and sensitive. It is a 15 incher with a fully numeric keyboard. It is spill resistant and backlit. Dell made full and good use of the keyboard deck, though you might have wished the designers had gone in for full-size arrow keys. Ports on the left consist of a cable-locking notch, a USB 3.0 port, an AC power jack and a full-size SD/MMC card slot. The design of the power plug nevertheless sticks directly out as far as it could.

When the popularity of PC gaming is high, ELEAGUE, with cutting edge hardware is proud to have Dell as a partner. It is also supporting the passionate Esports community and offering high-performance hardware needed to deliver ELEAGUE’s thrilling competition. While gaming enthusiasts are waiting for this beast to launch in India to lay their hands on, what do you think about the specifications?
