Google’s Impressive New Product Line-up
Early on Tuesday, Google released an array of its latest products at the ‘Made by Google’ launch. With so many new gadgets on the agenda, the event was thrilling to say at the very least. Here is a line-up of Google’s newest products.
Teeing the event was the much anticipated and awaited Google Pixel. The first ever smartphone that is made exclusively by Google, the Pixel is the perfect integration of software into stellar hardware. The camera has been rated as the best smartphone camera even when compared with those of phones like the iPhone7. Google has released two models of the smartphone, namely the Pixel and the Pixel XL which are 5 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. Packed with Google Assistant, the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and a range of other features, the Pixel starts at a price of approximately Rs. 54,000 and will be available for pre-order from October 13.
One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of Google’s premier VR headset, the Daydream View. Priced at approximately Rs. 5000, the VR headset has a unique look that is different from the standard design that can be found on most other headsets. It is covered with a soft cloth which looks stylish and feels comfortable too, even when you wear it for a long period of time. The headset also comes with its own remote control so that you can navigate through the device and play VR games even while wearing it. It is currently available in three colours- Crimson, Snow and Slate.
Chromecast, the device which allows you to stream your content from either your smart phone or your tablet right to your TV screen, has now been upgraded. The newer model is known as the Chromecast Ultra and it has the ability to stream 4K video quality. This allows you to now use the device with your smart-television as well.
Google WiFi Router
Google has launched its own WiFi router, with the aim to solve connectivity issues and the problems that often come with installing a router. With an easy setup that is guided by an application, the router allows you to not only control who can access the internet connection but also when. The router is available as either a single device or in pack of three that can be placed at multiple points around a larger home for optimal internet where ever you go.
Google Home has overtaken the popular Amazon Echo home system, with its cheaper price and more intelligent and evolved system. It is led by Google Assistant, which allows you to ask it a variety of questions from information on the latest shows to booking a table at a restaurant. You can also do things like add calendar notes, control your home lighting and command it to play music via YouTube. This then converts the device into a speaker.
Offered as the answer to Amazon Alexa, Microsoft Cortana and Apple Siri, the Google Assistant made its debut at the end of the launch event. Capable of all the same abilities that most other artificial intelligence assistants have, the Google Assistant is sure to be very helpful. One quality that it does possess over other such AI helpers is its massive data collection that is available thanks to Google’s Knowledge Graph. This means that it will already know to provide you with information that is most relevant to you.
