iPad Pro 2 Features & updates
Here’s everything you need to know about the new iPad Pro 2 rumors. So far, there is no sign of an official launch date of the device; we may have to wait longer. The new device is likely to replace both the existing Pro models and come in a completely different size. It is rumoured to be slimmer and lighter, water resistant with no headphone port. Since Apple has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from iPhone7, there is a good chance that they may bring the same change in the iPad range too.
The iPad Pro 2 is likely to come in three sizes with a True Tone display. There’ll be a 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch and a 12.9-inch version. All these versions will have a True Tone display which will allow the slate to change the screen’s colour temperature, depending on the lighting conditions where you use it so that you could see the image suitably no matter what surroundings you’re in. Apple hardly changes the resolution of its screens and so it is possible that iPad Pro 2 9.7 and 10.5 will stay at 1536 x 2048 and 12.9 to stay at 2048×2732.
The Pro 2 will house a bigger battery but no news on its exact size and in any case it’s likely to differ depending on which screen size you choose from. Talking about its camera, it will possibly be sticking to a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing one, much like its predecessor iPad Pro 9.7. However, it may be added with a larger lens like was done to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
IPad Pro 2 is supposed to be powered by an A10X processor and is expected to be launched with iOS 10. The latest software upgrade in Apple includes big improvements to Siri, the skill to live broadcast apps, a new look in the Control Centre and more. A Geekbench leak indicates it’ll have a single-core score of 4236 and a multi-core score of 6588. By comparison the original iPad Pro had a multi-core score of 5472. You could expect to see more RAM in the iPad Pro 2. 4GB of RAM across the board would make sense.
Other features may include a pressure-sensitive home button and a Smart Connector (allowing its users an easy way to connect keyboards and other accessories to the tablet). The iPad Pro 2 will apparently support the Apple Pencil and there’s every chance that Apple will release new versions of the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard alongside it.
The Pro 2 is also likely to have a Microsoft Surface Pro range. There’s no news on the pricing yet but it is expected to be close to the original iPad Pro’s pricing and certainly a little heavy on the pockets.
