IRCTC and MobiKwik Partner Up

Buying emergency railway tickets through tatkal has always been a headless chicken race. As it was essential to visit the ticket booking office to make a payment, the process was tiring and harrowing as well. Thankfully the procedure has become a lot simpler, thanks to the partnering of the IRCTC with the online payment application MobiKwik.

The two have joined together to provide an alternative solution for making payments. Besides being able to pay using NetBanking, debit or credit cards, you can now choose to pay for your tickets right from MobiKwik.

IRCTC

According to the app, users will be able to pay in just two seconds when using the wallet. This is almost 10 times less than other payment methods. By using this e-cash method of payment, the requirement to fill in your card details and then wait for approval for the transaction from your bank, is now eradicated.

Instead, the amount to be paid is directly deducted from the users MobiKwik account by IRCTC. This is possible once the app has been installed and money has been added to the wallet so that a quick and glitch-free payment is done.

Of course, for this to work, the user must have installed the app and have money in the wallet for seamless and fast payment. As it is only possible to buy tatkal tickets a day in advance and almost 15 percent of ticket bookings are done through tatkal, the availability of an e-payment method greatly reduces the rush and makes the entire process easier.

This facility can be accessed through IRCTC website between 8:00 am and 12:00pm every day. This is the third such collaboration between MobiKwik and IRCTC. The two joined hands earlier to allow users to make payments for booking tickets and ordering meals through the app.
