Liquid Jade 2 To Put Acer On The Map

After releasing the model specifications earlier this year, Acer has finally disclosed the price of the new flagship. The Liquid Jade 2 comes at an affordable price of Rs 18,000. But with popular brand models with similar specs doing the rounds in the market, let’s go ahead to see if this Acer phone manages to woo tech enthusiast!

The phone boasts of a 3GB RAM, promising a smooth and uninterrupted multimedia performance. This coupled with the hexa-core Snapdragon processor ensures that the phone performs smoothly even with multiple apps running in the background. It comes with a 5.5 inch HD AMOLED touch-screen which, when previously featured in the Jade Primo had been an instant hit in the market. For the ones who do not know what that means, AMOLED display provides the user with vibrant images with utmost clarity. And to make entertainment an all-round experience, the Liquid Jade 2 boasts of surround sound audio along with high definition.

1One of the noteworthy features of Acer’s new flagship model is the ability to record video in 4K resolution. While the main camera is 21 megapixel, the front camera comes with a decent 8 megapixel. The smartphone carries a micro-sim slot and includes all the common connectivity options – WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM, and 3G or 4G data connection.

Coming to the storage, the Liquid Jade 3 comes with an acceptable 32 GB storage, but if the user has many videos shot with the 4K resolution camera the storage will not be sufficient. Well, fret not, since users can also opt for the 1TB hybrid storage for the handset.

As for the design, the Liquid Jade 2 makes for an attractive handset, with curved edges and a slim design making for the sleek look. But, the fact that the phone does not have a metal body, is probably the only let-down in terms of the make.

While the plastic panel does a very good job at coming across as metal, it’s not the same. It makes for an attractive model nonetheless. And despite the apparent minor setback, looks like the Liquid Jade 2 is aiming to make Acer a popular choice of brand in the Android market.

Now if you are familiar with Acer’s previous Primo model, you will see that Liquid Jade 2 shares a lot of similarities with its predecessor. But, one update which makes a world of a difference is the switch from Microsoft Operating System to Android.

Considering the criticisms garnered by the Microsoft OS as opposed to the widespread popularity of Android, this change might as well be what puts Acer ahead of other brands.
