Memory Improvement Applications On Your Smartphone

It is very important that your brain doesn’t get rusty. Even though it’s not a muscle, it will turn to mush if it remains unused. Here are a few apps to help ensure your brain stays active and refreshed.

Memory Trainer

1

This application helps on building and maintaining memory skills. It also works on one’s spatial and working memory and helps to improve concentration levels. The app allows the user to track the progress made by a graph and thus try to do better each time. The user is allowed to choose a workout session and one can complete it at their convenience. Some games will ask you to look for certain objects but remains tricky because users tend to overlook tiny details. It is a fun and challenging game and is becoming a favourite among smartphone users.

Fruits Memory Game

2

This application is reminiscent of the classic childhood game. Pairs of fruits need to be found and matched, thus making it good for any age. Fruits are obscured by large question marks and the user has to match the correct fruit to its right pair. To top it off, the order of the fruits has been jumbled. The game is won when the user has found all the fruit pairs. It looks deceptively simple but you will find your time consumed when playing it. The graphics are superb and each fruit is rendered in gorgeous 3D, making it more appealing. The game also comes with sounds to match the vivid fruit icons.

Lumosity

3

This application is one of the most famous Android applications to help with memory improvement. The app is very streamlined and allows the user to develop only those parts of the brain that he wishes. A survey conducted when the app is opened for the first time helps the app decide which games to provide to the user for training. The memory game is extremely effective. It is called “Memory Matrix”. The user has to recreate a pattern of tiles that is visible only for a few seconds. Lumosity maps the user’s progress daily and also allows the user to take a brain test at the end of 10 weeks to see how progress has been made. The app has a clear and clean design and the daily training session games only take a few minutes. It promises benefits in everyday life due to an increased cognitive ability. However, half of the games are only available to those users who have a paid subscription and so the initial promise and excitement from the app gradually wears off.

Crystal Memory

4

The objects in Crystal Memory are literally crystals with only their colours to tell them apart and the user has to work extra hard to spot the differences between them. The colour of the crystals are easy on the eyes and have to be used as markers to complete the game. It is a challenging and fun game to enhance memory.

Mobile Upgrades: Killing The Product Before Its Time?

Have to agree. The speed of newer phone models within the same series and newer app versions lead to more thought put into buying decisions. Phone lines have a definite short shelf life

Frequently upgrading the software is a real problem as updating the software might cause your phone to lag because of the older hardware.
