Moto G5 Specifications Leaked!

Lenovo, who bought over Motorola in India last year is expected to launch the much talked-about Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona this year. The company has been building up the suspense for its new products for a while now and in addition to this, there are a vast array of rumours circulating.

Most of the information about the Moto G5 was kept well-hidden all this time, save for a small leak by a US FCC listing. Most recently, a brand new leak from a Brazilian website is claiming that it has unveiled the true specifications of the Moto G5 ahead of its release. Here’s everything we know so far about the two new Moto smartphones.

Reports claim that the new Moto G5 that has the model number XT1672 in Brazil & will come with Android v7.0 Nougat pre-installed. In terms of the processing units, the Moto G5 is expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with a RAM of 2GB.

The Moto G5 will have a storage capacity of 32GB and is expected to be expandable up to 128GB using an external microSD card. The phone will most likely have a full HD touchscreen display that is of 5 inches and has a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.

As for the camera, the Moto G5 will have a front selfie camera lens of 5 megapixels. This is disappointing as while it will be sufficient for taking photos and making video calls, it will not offer stunning image quality.

Lenovo’s new Moto G5 is said to be powered by a battery that has a capacity of 2800mAh. This should comfortably last up to one day. However, as most devices today are coming out with a battery life of a day and a half on an average, this feature is also a disappointment.

The higher-end version (ie. the Moto G5 Plus) however, is expected to have more impressive features such as a full HD touchscreen display of 5.5 inches, with a 403ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density. Compared to the Moto G5, the Moto G5 Plus is said to have the Snapdragon 625 SoC processor and a RAM of 4GB.

The primary camera of the Moto G5 Plus will probably be of 12 megapixels, while the front camera will also be of only 5 megapixels. As for the battery, this device will take it a step above the budget model and offer a 3100mAh battery which can last just above a day.

For all those looking to save up and buy the new Moto smartphone, we suggest waiting until a few days after February 26th when the launch will finally be made and reviews will be out.
