Nokia C1 Preview


Nokia will always be a pronounced name when looking at Mobile phone manufacturers and the evolution that was brought in by them in the industry. However, the Finland based company has recently struggled to assert itself in the niche after Apple and Samsung came into the picture. Now after Nokia’s separation from Microsoft, the Nokia C1 will be its latest attempt to prove that Nokia is still in the game. Nokia is looking to re-enter the smartphone market with several new phones, following the sale of Lumia business to Microsoft.

nokia-android-smartphone-renderThe latest version of Nokia C1 will have similar design as that of its older version but it will run on two operating systems, Android Marshmallow and Windows 10. It will be have only a single GSM SIM slot.

Display :

This new phone has a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, with 401 ppi pixels density and a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It has a multi-touch feature.

Network :

This mobile phone is enabled with GSM/HSPA technology; 2G and 3G bands with the EDGE and GPRS features. You will be able to use speeds of up to HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps. The mobile has Bluetooth (A2DP, v4.0 and EDR), WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot and Wi-Fi Direct), FM radio, microUSB v2.0. and GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS).

Memory :

Memory unit of the device is equipped with 2 GB of on-board RAM and with 32 GB of internal in-built memory. Along with that it has a microSD card slot which can be used for the further expansion of storage capacity of this device up to 256 GB.

Camera :

Nokia Lumia has always had good cameras and that is what can be expected from this phone as well. This device is embedded with a 13 MP rear-facing primary camera, with features like laser/face detection auto-focus, touch-focus, geo -tagging, HDR, panorama and Dual toned LED flash light. A laser auto-focus sensor is not found on back of this phone, while it can be found on other phones in this category. The front camera is 5 MP selfie shooter which may have a HD video recording feature.

OS and Processor :

The phone will run on an octa-core 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & 4×1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor which will be powered by an Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 integrated with an Adreno 510 GPU graphic card. This device will on run on Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 and Windows 10.

Battery :

It will have a non-removable 3000mAH Li-ion battery.

Sound :                    

The phone will have a loudspeaker placed behind. For enhanced sound experience, the noise handset has 3.5 mm jack. The phone will support audio inputs like Vibration; MP3 and WAV ringtones alert types.

The Nokia C1 will have accelerometer, gyro sensor, proximity sensor and compass. Regular features like SMS threads, MMS, Email, Push Email and IM will be present in this handset. This mobile is likely to be available in different colours and is expected to be priced at approximately Rs. 12000-Rs. 13000 range.

With the above specified features and the price range it will be very interesting to see how Nokia acquires its lost customer base.

Mobile Upgrades: Killing The Product Before Its Time?

Have to agree. The speed of newer phone models within the same series and newer app versions lead to more thought put into buying decisions. Phone lines have a definite short shelf life

Frequently upgrading the software is a real problem as updating the software might cause your phone to lag because of the older hardware.

They should come out with upgrades for the specific phones and not for the separate Operating System. This way a special version for your phones specific hardware can be made
