Oakter Smart Home Kit Review

The Internet of Things (IoT) has been steadily creeping into more and more areas of our lives and the first step is into our homes. Smart homes have now become widely prevalent, with systems that allow you to control all your appliances by simply pressing a button on your controller.

However, for this to be possible, the other appliances in your house must be smart as well. In newly built homes, a majority of the appliances and electronics are also modern, unfortunately in older homes it is much more difficult to integrate new technology. Thankfully there is now a solution to this and it is the Oakter Smart Home Kit.

Oakter

Simply put, the Oakter Smart Home is a starter kit which can be extended using additional units. This kit is offered with two Smart plugs of 6amp and 16amp, and a hub that is used to connect to your home’s WiFi. The 6amp Smart plug can be used for smaller electronics such as speakers and also for charging your smartphone. The 16amp Smart plug is suited for powering a water pump or an AC.

The Oakter is connected to its own app which is available on both the iOS and Android platforms. This app offers a step-by-step on-boarding guide to setup the kit which is perfect considering that the term IoT seems heavy for a lot of users.

Each unit has LED lights so that you can easily tell whether they are connected or not. Once the WiFi is set up, you can view your connected units on the app and easily control them right from there. So there is no need to actually go up to the coffee machine to turn it off! The Oakter Smart Home Kit can link up to 50 units around your home, so you can use it for everything from your TV to your washing machine, AC, charger, lights and all other appliances.

This kit is extremely useful for the home which requires appliances to be regularly started at a specific time. So if you receive water at 7pm every evening, you can simply schedule the pump to start at that time and to automatically switch off at a time of your choosing. In this manner, you can set your AC and other appliances to start and stop at set times.

Offering a great way to save energy and easily control all your home electronics remotely, the Oakter Smart Home Kit is certainly a useful gadget for the modern home. Priced at Rs. 4,750, this is a product your home needs to take it into the modern world!
