OnePlus 2 vs Lenovo Vibe Shot

The evolved version of the popular OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, and the Lenevo Vibe Shot are making it quite big in the mobile market with their different unique selling points. OnePlus 2 has a 4 GB RAM, making that its USP and so is Lenovo Vibe Shot, with a powerful camera.

Look and Display

The OnePlus 2 is sleeker, made from enhanced materials and has super thin bezels and it provides five diverse covers namely sandstone black, bamboo, rosewood, black apricot, kevlar. The phone measures 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.8 mm, and weighs 175 grams.

The Lenovo Vibe Shot on the other hand has a glass and metal building. It measures 142 x 70 x 7.3 mm and weighs 145 grams, making it smaller and lighter than the OnePlus 2.

The OnePlus 2 is has a 5.5 inch display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating. It has a full HD resolution and offers 403 ppi pixel density.

On the contrary, Lenovo Vibe Shot comes with a 5 inch TFT display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (full HD), with huge pixel density of 403 ppi. Also its display is cosseted by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor and Memory

Performance wise Lenovo Vibe Shot has the 1.7 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor stocked with 3 GB RAM. The mishmash is good enough to run anything thrown at it, be it multitasking or playing graphic intensive games. However, statistically the OnePlus 2 has a rim as it has the top of the line Snapdragon 810 chipset with a 64-bit 1.8 GHz octa-core processor and is armed with powerful 4 GB RAM.

In terms of memory, the Lenovo Vibe Shot overpowers the OnePlus 2 with 32 GB internal memory and a 128 GB expandable storage; OnePlus 2 offers only 64 GB internal memory and cannot be expanded.

OS

The Lenovo Vibe Shot runs on Android Lollipop operating system, with Vibe UI on top of it. OnePlus 2, on the other hand, comes with the first version of OnePlus’ own UI, Oxygen OS, which is based on Android Lollipop too and offers almost the basic Android UI.

Battery

The OnePlus 2 is equipped with a 3300 mAh battery while the Lenovo Vibe Shot has a 2900 mAh battery – both non-removable units.

Camera

The Vibe Shot brags about its 16MP camera as it is apparently Lenovo’s best camera phone till date and is a camera-smartphone intersect. It offers high end features like optical image stabilization, triple-LED flash, infrared auto-focus, panorama, HDR, manual mode, face detection, and can record full HD videos at 30 frames per second and an 8MP front camera capable to recording full HD videos.

The OnePlus 2 too has a decent 13 megapixel camera with laser autofocus, 6 lenses, dual-flash, optical image stabilization and a 5MP front camera. It can shoot videos at 4K resolution while you can also record slow motion videos in 720p at 120 fps.

SIM Slots

The OnePlus 2 has two nano SIM slots. The phone offers 4G connectivity, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and DLNA. The Lenovo Vibe Shot too has two nano SIM slots, 4G, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS and micro USB 2.0 port.

Both the phones are all set to give each other some tough competition. If you love taking pictures, you will fall for the Vive Shot for sure and the gamers would mostly opt for OnePLus 2. Both the phones are worth a try for their superb specifications and unique selling points.

Mobile Upgrades: Killing The Product Before Its Time?

Have to agree. The speed of newer phone models within the same series and newer app versions lead to more thought put into buying decisions. Phone lines have a definite short shelf life

Frequently upgrading the software is a real problem as updating the software might cause your phone to lag because of the older hardware.
