Secure Your Home With Cocoon

Do you find that you are often worrying about the safety of your home and belongings while you are away? Then a home security system is a gadget that you must invest in to ease your worries. Cocoon is a security device that was created by the start-up company of the same name.

Sanjeev Parekh, a co-founder of the company, was tired of receiving false alarms and alerts from his home security system and decided that the tech needed to change. With this in mind and the goal to make homes security devices accessible to more people, he along with four others started working on Cocoon.

Simply put, Cocoon is a small device that listens for any unusual sounds in your home, while you are out. It may even be the sound of a parcel being dropped on your doorstep. If something like this occurs Cocoon will simply send an alert to your smartphone.

Cocoon is a round and stylish device that resembles tennis-ball sized web-camera. To be placed in the main entry-way of a house, Cocoon can pick up low frequency sounds that are inaudible to the human ear. It is also sensitive enough to detect even faint sounds of movement through ceilings and walls. This handy device has a video camera of HD quality built-in, a temperature sensor and a motion detector as well.

The Cocoon security system creates a virtual image of how a house sounds and learns what the regular and normal movement patterns are. This is done so that it can then accurately detect whether a sound or movement is abnormal or not.

If a particular activity is found to be suspicious, Cocoon will send a video to your phone and allow you to watch a live video of 30 seconds. Then you can either choose to dismiss the alert or alert the police. For times when you have a guest staying over at your home, you can simply dismiss alerts and say to the security system, “It’s OK, I have a guest staying over this week.”

Cocoon has the ability to automatically arm your house as soon as you leave and disarm security when you return. All videos and other communication is encrypted from end-to-end so that only you and no external sources can access your data. This smart security system also features machine learning and can easily give you updates via the Cocoon smartphone application.

Priced at approximately £299, the Cocoon home security system is offered with the Android app which is free of cost. The iOS version of the app is expected to launch by July 2017. Created to help people feel secure at home, Cocoon is a system that you can rely on to monitor your home 24 hours a day.

They should come out with upgrades for the specific phones and not for the separate Operating System. This way a special version for your phones specific hardware can be made
