Smartphone Trends To Expect In 2016

Only few day for 2016 and we always look forward to what is new store for us every New Year. The same holds true for gadget world. 2015 saw lots of changes in the gadget world, there was development of fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C and QHD displays. The changes are expected even in 2016 and it is for sure with new technology there will some amazing trends expected in the market.

Let us look at possible trends in the smartphone market in 2016.

4K Resolution Screen

In the mid of 2015, Sony unveiled the first 4K resolution screen in smartphones. As the popularity of virtual reality increases the demand for 4K screen is going to increase. Even though Sony Xperia Z5 premium has 4K resolution, it is functional only to display a 4K quality picture. So we hope there will be more 4K devices in 2016.

Wireless Payment

Using fingerprint authentication, Apple pay was the first wireless payment introduced by Apple. Later on Android makers came up with wireless payment option on their smartphones. Samsung brought in Samsung Pay, Google came out with a secure payment feature Android Pay. The latest Marshmallow OS features it. Also LG plans to come up with LG pay. Looks like most of the smartphones will have the finger print payment option in 2016

Superfast Charging

We are dependent on the smartphone on daily basis, right from staying connect to entertainment. To make it last long we need to keep it charged. Also due to multitasking we want phones that get charged faster. To meet this Huawei has come up with fast charging smartphones. It has already come up with a smartphone that has a 600mAh battery which can be charged from zero battery level to 68% under 2 minutes. So this technology is soon going to make the rounds in 2016.

USB Type-C

USB Type-C is already here but it will be further developed and be much better as it will developed as a common port to connect many peripherals.

Foldable Display

When Samsung launched their flagship Smartphone – Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the company revealed about introducing foldable displays. Another Korean Smartphone marker, LG, has implied about launching foldable displays. So we can expect foldable gadgets in 2016.

Mobile assistants

Earlier mobile smartphone assistants used to do certain tasks by your voice commands. Simple activities like dialling a number or launching your email service. Now, after collecting data from your usage, mobile assistant guide you through you daily commute, update you with events based on calendar etc. So in 2016 we are going to see more of these assistants on the smartphones.

Have to agree. The speed of newer phone models within the same series and newer app versions lead to more thought put into buying decisions. Phone lines have a definite short shelf life
