Sony Xperia XZ Premium Debuts At MWC 2017

At the Mobile World Congress 2017, Sony launched its new Xperia XZ Premium that will probably be the first of its kind much needed 4K powerhouse.

It’s the world’s first smartphone that has a 4K HDR display with an impressive 3840px by 2160px resolution. It’s a perfect combination of HDR TVs that they’ve put together to create a mobile device like never before. With such a display, Sony has teamed up with Amazon for 4K HDR content from Amazon Prime Video and the HDR detail makes it looks fabulous with its color reproduction. The colors appear warm and natural, much like reality.

The phone doesn’t just come with amazing display. It is backed by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM which is better than most smartphones that till run on Snapdragon 820 or 821.

Another first of its kind feature is the  super-slow motion video capturing at 720p with 960 frames per second. This feature lets you capture moments that pass by in the blink of an eye. For fast integration of memory, this phone holds a camera stack called ‘Motion Eye’. It allows the handset to start buffering shots as soon as there is a slight movement in frame. Other features of the 19-megapixel camera include a triple-sensor autofocus, laser AF, an updated Exmor RS image sensor and an RGBC infrared sensor that can adjust the white balance on the spot. For enhanced motion detection and noise reduction, Sony Xperia has been upgraded to the Bionz image processing engine.

The camera is so ground-breaking that it has the ability to capture what the human eye cannot notice. Along with a mind-blowing rear camera, the phone has a 13-megapixel front facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and a 22mm wide-angle lens.

Though the display, processor and camera are the flagship features of the Xperia XZ Premium, the phone comes with other amazing features as well. Its rating for water resistance is IP65 and IP68. It comes with a fingerprint scanner that is embedded into the power button and has a 3230mAh battery which is very powerful. The phone has 64GB of internal memory space and is expandable using the microSD support.

With great features, the phone also looks and feels pretty stylish. It has the Xperia factor but with a slight twist. The phone comes in Luminous chrome and Deepsea Black variants which are glossy. The phone also has a metal antenna at the top and comes with Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and rear covers.

The phone is said to be available in the market by spring 2017 and is likely to be priced at $799 which is approximately Rs. 53,500.

Frequently upgrading the software is a real problem as updating the software might cause your phone to lag because of the older hardware.

They should come out with upgrades for the specific phones and not for the separate Operating System. This way a special version for your phones specific hardware can be made
