Things To Consider While Buying A Budget Smartphone

Nowadays to own a smart phone you do not need to empty your wallet. They have evolved to a great extent that you can have one as per your budget.  If you are about to purchase a Smartphone then take into consideration these things before buying one.

Double check the features

In order to sell their smart phone of cheaper price, most manufacturers reduce certain features and make other features appear big. This kind of strategy usually goes unnoticed. When it comes to display, you may get 5-inch display but it will contain a resolution of 800×480 pixels. Sometimes, out of the 4GB internal storage, only 2GB of space can be used by you.

Focus On Hardware

Your primary focus while buying a smart phone should be the hardware. Just because you are buying a budget phone does not mean you can settle for entry level hardware. You do not have to settle of a lesser core processor as there are other options available. Also, it is always better if you check out a demo phone prior to close the deal, so that you can feel its build quality and hardware buttons and ports.

Avoid comparing them to expensive smart phones

Most of us think the inexpensive phones are less powerful than the expensive Smart phones and those top-end Smart phones will cost double the rate of budget phones. At times the manufacturers promote that the device would perform like the top-end phones and tempt you to buy them. If you buy the economical phone then you should be ready to settle with stalled features such as processor type and speed, screen resolution and RAM. Sometimes the flyer may say 13 MP camera but the quality varies.

Check the operating system version

Smart phones run on operating systems like Android, Windows as well as the older BlackBerry devices are available. Learn about the device’s operating system version before buying. You do not want to be stuck with an older version of Android or Windows phone without any update on the operating system. The latest version of Android requires larger processor speed and RAM as compared to the latest in Windows Phone. In addition to that, pre-installed third party apps can play a vital role in phone’s performance if you can remove and free up the space.

After Sales Support

Check online about the brand’s reputation in providing service if your phone has problems.  Every Smartphone manufacturers offer a year warranty; it is of no use when you cannot find any service center nearby. There are online forum where you can learn about the company’s service and most of the times, companies suffer from lack of spare parts for the Smart phones.

We are sure that there are plenty of budget phones that meet the quality and standard. Just be aware about what you really want. Are there any other things that need to be considered while buying a budget phone? Do share with us.
