What exactly is 4G?

4G is the next generation of mobile data connections. It is a streamlined and speedy connection that is more competent than 3G data network.  4G ensures extremely fast multimedia streaming, by offering at least around 100 Mbit/s with greater mobility and up to 1GBit/s with lower mobility.

Why 4G is considered so superior?

The dominance of 4G lies in various facets along with an overall improved performance. The network gives immense speed for regular activities like web surfing, video streaming, using applications etc. It gives improved uploading and downloading speed gives you an overall internet usage experience that is excellent.

Currently in India, 4G LTE band-40 having 2300 to 2400 MHz (TD-LTE) frequency range is active (online) and offered by the operators in Indian Territory.

Idea Cellular has retained 900 MHz spectrum in the 9 circles and has also acquired additional spectrum in the 1800 MHz band in six key circles, 2100 MHz spectrum in Kolkata, plus additional 5 MHz of 900 MHz spectrum in Maharashtra.

4G is new to India, in UK and other parts of the globe. Besides, new know-hows that support around 400Mbps LTE service are also being tested already. In this present world of never-ending advancements and constantly evolving technologies, we shall possibly see 5G coming soon.
