Unveiling The Altec Lansing Dual Motion Bluetooth Speaker

Lansing_Dual_Motion_Bluetooth_SpeakerA portable Bluetooth speaker is a handy device to have around, when you are travelling, working or even for usage at home.

There are certain factors that you consider before buying a speaker, such as size, sound quality, battery life and functions. Altec Lansing recently released the Dual Motion Bluetooth speaker, which is a budget friendly offering.

With a simple rectangular design and a matte-finished plastic body, the speaker has a slightly rugged look to it. Weighing at 454 grams, the Dual Motion is certainly heavier than most other Bluetooth speakers. There are several physical controls added, including one for play, pause, volume adjusting, answering calls and powering on and off. There is also a strap that has been added to the side, so that you can strap it on to your bag or even hang it on your bike handle.

In terms of sound quality, the Dual Motion speaker provides a clear listening experience with a good treble range. While the bass does not offer any thump, it is deep enough to shine through when using the speaker at the highest volume. The listening experience that you get when using this speaker on its loudest is sharp and free of any distortion.

This Bluetooth speaker also offers a hands-free calling capability, however you cannot expect good voice quality with the Dual Motion. The speaker’s built-in microphone can capture audio but only if the speaker is very close by. Often when using the device for hands-free calling, the speaker tends to echo back sounds to the listener on the other end. This can make the entire experience very tiresome.

When fully-charged, the Altec Lansing Dual Motion speaker should offer a battery life of approximately 6 hours. Using it for voice calls will reduce the battery to about 5 hours. You can also use headphones with this speaker, using the 3.5mm port. Charging is done via a microUSB cable.

Priced at Rs. 1999, the Altec Lansing Dual Motion is an affordable portable speaker with some fairly good features. However there are also options like the Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Speaker, which is offered at the same price and delivers a better sound quality.
