Xiaomi’s Stunning New Smart-TVs

The Smart-TV is a trend that is steadily picking up, however the prices of most of the screens available today, have made it a product that is out of the reach of a large section of the public. Chinese tech manufacturer Xiaomi has solved this issue with the launch of its latest range of smart television sets called the Mi TV 3S screen, which starts from Rs. 34,900.

The Android powered Smart-TV is available in two sizes namely, 55 inches and 65 inches. With an ultra-thin metal body, the Mi TV 3S display measures only 9.9 millimetres in thickness. The frame which is made from an anodised aluminium alloy, has an embossed diamond cut of 45 degrees on the front and back. The widest part of the TV which holds all the electronics measures only 37.6 millimetres thick, giving this TV an all-round sleek look and design.

Featuring a display panel from Samsung, the 65 inch screen has a resolution of 4K that translates to 3480 pixels by 2160 pixels. The display also features an NTSC colour gamut of 85 percent, which means that not only will the clarity of the screen be of high quality but the picture will also have more real and accurate colours.

On the other hand, while the 55 inch screen also features a 4K display, the IPS panel is made by LG. Both of the screens have an Amlogic T966 processor that has four cores from Cortex-A53 and runs at a speed of 1.8GHz. The two models also have an inbuilt Mali-T830 quad-core GPU (graphics processing unit) as well as 2GB of RAM. All this adds up to a smooth functioning system that works free of any interruptions.

The devices are both packed with 8GB of eMMC (multi-media card), which is slower than the now common SSD (solid state drive). However at the offered price point, these specifications are certainly not disappointing.

Connectivity options for the Mi TV 3S include Bluetooth v4.0 and a WiFi connection. The Mi Smart-TVs support HDR and have four speakers built-in as well as an independent sound bar. Also launched along with the TVs, was the Home Theatre Edition of the Mi TV 3S which has a sub-woofer, an individual sound bar and two surround speakers of 2.25 inches on the rear.

Priced at Rs. 34,900 for the 55 inch screen and Rs. 49,000 for the screen of 65 inches, the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S is a great option if you are looking to buy a Smart-TV that comes with a mid-range price.

Frequently upgrading the software is a real problem as updating the software might cause your phone to lag because of the older hardware.

They should come out with upgrades for the specific phones and not for the separate Operating System. This way a special version for your phones specific hardware can be made
